I. Monday —Exodus 6 / Israel’s Deliverance Assured
1. What did Moses learn that the Patriarchs were not told?

2. Why did God promise the Hebrews He would deliver them from bondage in Egypt?

3. What do you think about the saying “there is power in prayer” in light of the Hebrew’s groanings (seeJames 4:2c-3)?

4. How are we to understand the action of God in verse 6 when He said “I will redeem you”?

5. How is Moses no different than the other Hebrews in verses 9-12?

6. What purpose do listing the family heads accomplish here?

7. Verses 28-30 are a repeat of verses 10-13. What did Moses mean that he had uncircumcised lips?

II. Tuesday —Exodus 7 / The Miracles of God Begin
1. What did God mean that Moses will be as God to Pharaoh?

2. What lesson do we learn in verse 3 when it said God would harden Pharaoh’s heart (see Romans 9:14-18)?

3. What was God’s two-fold purpose in hardening Pharaoh’s heart?

4. What is a miracle and in what way are the plagues miracles?

5. How were Pharaoh’s magicians defeated in this first miracle?

6. Describe the first plague and why was it significant?

III. Wednesday —Exodus 8 / Plagues 2-4
1. What is a plague and what is significant about the plagues that would shake the Egyptians?

2. In what way would these three plagues be overwhelming (consider the phrase shall bring forth abundantly)?

3. What was the image of the frog for Egypt?

4. How would you explain that the magicians were only able to replicate the first two plagues?

5. If you look at the first nine plagues is there a pattern?

6. According to verses 10 and 22, why did God remove the plagues?

IV. Thursday – Exodus 9 / Plagues 5-7

2. What might you conclude about the plagues from 8:22, 9:4, 9:26?

V. Sunday — Exodus 10 / Plagues 8-9
1. What new element is revealed about the purpose of God in the plagues in verse 2?
